Bill is a physiotherapist (BPhty UQ 1980) with post graduate qualifications in musculoskeletal, sport and exercise physiotherapy (Grad Dip Sports Phty Distinction 1984 Curtin Uni (WA), MSc 1992 Curtin Uni (WA), PhD 2000 (UQ)). His scholarship is focussed on clinically relevant management of musculoskeletal disorders with a focus on tendinopathy and other sport/physical activity related pain and injuries. To this end he has over 342 publications of which 62 have been cited more than 62 ties and his body of work has been cited approximately twice as much as the average in his field. His key papers are published in leading medicine and sports medicine journals. He has published 26 book chapters and presented his work in over 300 invited conference presentations, workshops and seminars. He has been awarded over AUD30 million in grant funding and has supervised 37 PhD and 2 MPhil students to completion since 2000.
